How to drive a car

Learn how to drive a car with my driving lesson help guide.

This guide and all the videos were filmed by me, Paul, a driving instructor with over 20 years of experience in the driving tuition industry. I have taught well over 1,000 people to drive in real life as well as thousands of driving instructors and even some driving test examiners have emailed me to say they have learnt from my work.

This guide is getting a bit old now, but it’s still relevant and useful. Bear in mind when watching it that I filmed the whole thing without knowing one of my vocal cords wasn’t working, something which has since been fixed and I sound much better.

Scroll further down this page to see a directory of pages written by me. I’ll go over each subject with video demonstrations included from myself and pupils.

The videos above show me teaching Lucy to drive over a 42-hour course of lessons. Click the menu button at the top right of the video box below to select the topic you want to see.
